We Help You Engineering Your Decisions

Engineering Decisions To Satisfying Your Risk Appetite. Quantitatively.

Shape Your Decisions and Keep Risks Under Control

Thanks to Klarisk® (our proprietary technology leveraging on Artifical Logic) we help you engineering your decisions from a risk-based perspective and keeping the risks associated to them under control.

This will allow you to excel in your decisions and avoid internal and/or external factors silently driving operations away from your original decision-making intents.

A risk-based decision making approach rewards in every phase of your business lifecycle:

Strategy

The definition of the company strategy is the most critical activity in every business.

Being capable of engineering the decisions associated with each business opportuity from a risk-based perspective is of paramount importance to take the best decision for your business and, for some decisions, to avoid going out of business.

Design

It is estimated that up to 85% of lock-in costs are associated to the design phase. Design then is of paramount importance.

Transforming your design approach from opportunity-based to risk-based will help you significantly reducing problems during operations and reaching much higher efficiencies.

Operations

Operational decisions cover, on average, 75% of the overall company risk.

Being capable of engineering decisions for all operational functions (and not just for the executive ones) is key to guarantee stability to your profits and increase your efficiency.

Changes

Decisions associated with operational changes (maintenance, retrofitting, increase/decrease of production speed…), are the main underestimated and unexpected source of risk.

Engineering decisions from a risk-based perspective even for business changes is fundamental as, being transitional phases, the risks associated with them are often underestimated.

A Risk-based Decision Engineering Loop

Unlike known approaches, Klarisk® changes the decision engineering paradigm by extending the quantitative approach to the comparison of different decision-making opportunities, thus allowing to perform a risk-based cost-effective analysis.

The Klarisk® Technology in a Nutshell

Klarisk®, within the Artificial Intelligence world, belongs to the Cognitive Computing type of solutions (which are much less known and developed than the well known Machine Learning ones). Unlike the Machine Learning solutions that rely on data processing, the Cognitive Computing solutions rely on the logical modelling (i.e., the capability to anticipate).

This means two things:

  • Klarisk® allows to perform effective scenario-based previsions even without historical data (i.e., by leveraging on experience of people involved in the decision making process – capitalised through interviews)
  • Klarisk® allows to anticipate unwanted events and not only avoiding that something will happen again (as for the machine learning approach that process data – i.e., something that has already benn recorded and, as such, happened)

Klarisk® allows to calculate all risk values (i.e., maximum and minimum damage, expected damage, maximum risk, total probability) necessary to make clear what is, from a risk-based perspective, the best business opportunity to go for amongst those envisaged.

Klarisk®, thanks to the completeness, transparency and traceability of the calculation process (“white box” approach and not “black box”) and the information used to support the decision, guarantees greater legal protection

Klarisk® helps negotiating the insurance premium on a technical and quantitative basis and to verify the goodness of the possible mitigation solutions

Our Process

1. Understanding

The first step in our process is to understand what’s your decision-making problem.

This will allow us to create the (risk-based) logical model to calculate and engineer the decision associated to it.

4. Live Risk Control

Keeping the risk level under control is the key step to guarantee that the business objectives are met and in line with the original decision-making intents.

Thanks to Klarisk®, you will be able to keep your Key Risk Indicators (KRI) under control.

2. Risk Calculation

The second step is aimed at:

  • Creating the risk-based decision-making model
  • Calculating the risk level associated with the decision
  • Identifying the criticalities associated with the decision
U
3. DECISION Engineering

The third step is aimed at:

  • Identifying what might be the possible mitigation actions
  • Calculating their effectiveness with respect to the risk level associated with the analyzed decision (cost-benefit analysis)
  • Comparing the different decision-making opportunities to decide which one to pursue

Why Choosing Us

Symlogik developed Klarisk®, a unique technology (patent pending) that helps companies achieving unique results.

Mission

Help decision makers clarifying, from a risk-based perspective, what is the best business opportunity amongst those envisaged

Vision

Being recognized as the undisputed world leader in risk-based decision engineering

The only alternative to Risk Management is Crisis Management - and Crisis Management is much more expensive, long to manage and embarrassing.

Frequently Asked Questions

u

What type of decisions can be engineered with Klarisk® ?

Being logical simulations (those performed with Klarisk®), we can help you engineering virtually all types of decisions, from strategic decisions (for which there is a great uncertainty and a large number of variables) to more operational ones (for which there is a great experience and, in some cases, a large amount of data).

u

Do I neccessarily need data to engineering my decisions ?

No. Klarisk®, within the Artificial Intelligence world, belongs to the Cognitive Computing type of solutions that, contrary to the Machine Learning type of solutions, do not rely on data. In addition, thanks to the specific and unique features of the Klarisk® algorithm, we can engineer your decisions by capitalising your esperience and that of experts (i.e., even without statistically significant data).

u

Can I keep my risks constantly under control ?

Yes. When we help you engineering your decisions we create a model that can be used, in our Klarisk® platform, to keep your risks constantly (and quantitatively) under control. This means you can perform the simulations yourself to check what would be the impact, in terms of risks, of a change of one or more decision making variables.

u

Is Symlogik a consultancy company ?

No. Symlogik is a technology company that, thanks to its proprietary technology and its (logical) modelling capabilities, helps decision makers making better risk-informed decisions.

Should consultancy be needed, Symlogik has signed partnership agreements with some of the major consultancy firms.

Awards & Recognitions

Airliquide recognised Symlogik as innovative company in risk-based decision engineering.

Symlogik is now partner of Airliquide to support the company delivering its service to established biobanks in the area of disaster ricovery planning.

Symlogik has won third place in the Deloitte Regtech Challenge as innovative risk-based decision engineering company. As part of the prize, the company is collaborating in client engagements with some of Deloitte’s Europe, Middle Eeast and Africa (EMEA) Risk Advisory firms.

The aim of the competition was to find the most innovative start-ups using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to solve regulatory problems, particularly in relation to Conduct Risk. Symlogik competed against 40 other businesses, coming from the EMEA Region, at the RegTech Challenge Pitch & Award Day, which took place at Deloitte Greenhouse in Milan earlier in January 2019. Symlogik was awarded with the accolade after showcasing how it is capable to engineering decisions, from a risk-basis perspective, by means of its cloud-based Klarisk® technology.
